Christmas Photo Shoot

Christmas is just around the corner so my mom and Grandma Gerri thought it would be fun to get me and my cousin Madelyn's Christmas pictures taken. On paper it may have sounded like a great idea, but they had no idea what we had in store for them.
Things started off smoothly. I volunteered to get my picture taken first since Maddy seemed more interested in stacking all the chairs in the waiting room. I wasn't really in a smiling mood because I missed my afternoon nap, so most of the time I just gave the photographer my serious face... my mom says I look just like Daddy when I do this. Wardrobe change! My next outfit was another Christmas dress that matched Maddy's. The photographer decided to put me in a box so that I looked like a Christmas present. It was a little uncomfortable but I'm just happy she didn't put the lid on.

The next shot was supposed to be of me and Maddy together, but Maddy bolted every time she saw that camera. You would think she would be an old pro at this since she got her picture taken a bazillion times her first year... but nope. So I had to just sit there in that stupid present waiting for her to sit still and smile for the camera. I waited...
... and waited. Since she was taking FOREVER, I thought I might as well get comfortable while I waited, so I kicked my feet up.
Finally after many attempts, we got the money shot! Aren't we cute little cousins in our matching outfits.
Mom tried to test her luck and put me in ANOTHER outfit... my Texas Cheerleader uniform. But ater being changed 3 times, put into a box, and having to wait for Maddy for FOREVER, I decided I had enough and I let her know it! Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Baby Shadow...

Before I get to a few pics of myself, I need to explain a few things about my nickname, Baby Shadow. You see, a lot of my dad's friends call him "Shadow." It originated from a late 70's, early 80's CBS sitcom, "The White Shadow." They call him that because my dad "thinks" he can play basketball, but his friend Brent, allegedly a college basketball coach, says he doesn't play defense and shoots too many 3's. It really does not matter, because I personally feel like I can take him right now...and I am only 4 weeks old.

Somewhere alone the way, his nickname was shortened to just "Shadow," like the comic book (see pic) and crappy Alex Baldwin movie. I mean, my dad does say he fights crime everyday, but I am a skeptic. He doesn't wear a cape, he has no weapons, and all he talks about are DWI's all day...more importantly, I have yet to be driven around in any sort of "shadowmobile," but I do see him get into that sweet 93 Maxima, the one with the pool noodles keeping the water out of the trunk...not exactly crime fighting technology there dad.

Personally, I think he looks a lot more like this guy, Little Mac, from Mike Tyson's punchout.

Anyway, since my dad's nickname is "Shadow," I got the nickname, Baby Shadow. I got myself my very own outfit to help my dad fight crime....

Oh crap, I am starting to get sleepy...

Yawn...

Stretching it out, Getting cozy...and

Blog post over...it's nap time...crime fighting will have to wait!

Rubba Dub Dub

After two weeks of those terrifying sponge baths, my umbilical cord fell off and I could finally take a bath in my very own .... WHALE TUB!

I know I look a little tense in these pictures, but since these were taken I've had several baths and I'm finally learning to just sit back and relax.
I have to tell you though, that my favorite part of bath time is snuggling up to my mom and dad afterwards.

Home Sweet Home

I was born on a Thursday, and on Saturday my mom and dad finally were able to take me home. The car ride was a little interesting, my mom said my cheeks jiggled with every little bump in the road.

The timing worked out perfectly because we arrived home just in time for the UT football game. I know I've only been on the outside for 3 days but I'm already a huge longhorn fan! My Dad can't wait until he can take me to a game. Here I am all decked out in my UT onesie for the game.
Here are a few more pictures of my first week...

Get Ready World, Here I Come!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 is a day I will never forget. The day started out like every other day over the last nine months...sleeping...more sleeping...but then...OMG...
1:04 pm. Chaos. Lights. Strange looking people.
My face became all swollen and my head turned into a cone because I was squeezed so hard. I was freezing my butt off, and some lady with rubber gloves kept poking me. And guess what dad is doing the entire time? Snapping pictures. Thanks a lot dad!
My parents tell me that I was a pretty big baby when I was born. I weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 5 oz and was 21" long. Here are a few pictures of my first day on the outside.
